Default guild wars gold..whos stole it all?

ok im not new to gaming, far from it at 37 yrs of age ive been playing on various pcs and game consoles back to the days of the binatone blip tennis (circa 1973) right up to an x box and various levels of pc and console inbetween. In that time ive played my fair share of fps, sports, strategy, and rpg etc and always considered myself a fair player. My question is, how the heck do people manage to get so much gold in pre ascalon. i have 2 characters a lvl 9 ranger/memsmer just moved( prematurely i think ) to post Ascalon with just under 1000 gold and a level 8 necromancer/warrior still in pre ascalon with less than 200 gold. so either theres some serious cheating going on, or the posts ive read with people having anywhere between 3-20k are much farther in the game, or im completely missing something. ive read where people have made around 3k within 2 days in pre ascalon and found glorious lvl 12-15 or higher weapons and superior armour. Am i missing something totally or can anyone give me a few hints here as to where all that glorious gold is. Also is there a complete list of all the areas available to visit in both pre and post escalon just in case im missing something vital ( like a pot of platinum at end of rainbow or a dragon with a horde of gold i can slay!!!!)

Get out of there!

You need money for armour in post searing ascalon.
The cheap one is 50 gold a piece
The better one that will take you all the way to Lions Arch is 150 gold a piece.

So at most you need what, 900 gold and some of the right crafting material?
And thats skipping one armor level.

You will get much better loot and gold drops in post searing.
And quests for more skills.
And ability to PVP (well untill you get over lvl 10, after that you have to move to the next area)
And real groups.
And henchmens.
And a challange.
And a much much larger world.
and...
and...

...and

Best suggestion to get cash in pre-searing would be to basically farm for it around Ascalon City (Skales) or outside the Abbey (Worms). Sell any weapon you don't want and as soon as you can afford it get a ID kit and a Salvage kit. Most of the stuff you ID isn't really worth it, but I get several "precious" items per ID kit to pay for the use and you can salvage stuff for cash too. Collect crafting materials you'll need and in quantities that you can sell excess for extra cash. I usually cross over at lvl7 with at least 1200-1500 in gold and all the crafting materials I'll need

The cash begins to flow in when you hit post searing, dont worry in pre searing. I didnt hit 1k until probably level 10 or so as far as I can remember, but I was spening 100 here and 100 there. It flows in slowly. But now, at level 16 I have about 4k. I have had some good drops and sold off some magic items that brought in some serious cash flow. Im sure the higher you go, the more gold you get and the better items you get, which turn into gold when ya sell them (to other players of course...)

dont feel bad, once you reach certain stage, money flows in streams, you just gotta know how to ... snatch it.
